In 2004, Anthony and Nathalie married and began teaching together at Otea Api before later expanding their work with Te Ōrama. In 2010, they founded Fare Ha‘api‘ira‘a Ori Turereura in Rangiroa, Tuamotu Islands, where they currently reside and continue to teach the next generation.

Together, they became widely known as Teura Waipa, sharing their passion and aroha for Polynesian culture through dance, music, education, and performance throughout the world.

Over the years, Teura Waipa has taught and performed internationally in the United States, Mexico, Japan, and beyond. Anthony also serves as coordinator for Farereira‘a I Tahiti, a cultural festival held every three years in Tahiti, and previously co-produced Heiva I Reno—a Solo and Group Ori Tahiti Competition held in Reno, Nevada from 1999–2018.

Each November, Teura Waipa travels to Guadalajara, Mexico to judge and conduct workshops at Kamani Ilikai, produced by Yolanda Trujillo. In 2017, alongside Rangiroa Promotions, they expanded their cultural outreach to Yamagata, Japan through performances and workshops.

Today, they continue sharing their knowledge, passion, and aloha through their dance school, music, workshops, and cultural arts in Rangiroa and abroad.

Anthony Waipa Manaois is an instructor, choreographer, musician, composer, and producer dedicated to preserving and sharing the richness of Polynesian culture through dance and music. Throughout the years, he has led award-winning groups including Otea Api of Fremont, California and Te Ōrama of Daly City, California to multiple Overall Titles at prestigious festivals including San Jose Tahiti Fete, Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete, Kaua‘i Tahiti Fete, Heiva I Kaua‘i, Hura Tahiti, and Heiva I San Diego.

Anthony comes from a family deeply rooted in Polynesian arts and culture. His hula training began under the guidance of his mother, Kumu Hula Nalua Manaois, and his uncle, Kumu Leinani Leuck. He credits his Ori Tahiti foundation to influential teachers and cultural leaders including Nalua Manaois, Van Francisco, Carol Akau, Teitu Kameenui, Tunui Tully, Nani Terangi, Roiti Sylva, and Coco Hotahota.

Today, Anthony continues to teach, perform, compose, and produce alongside his wife Nathalie Teura in Rangiroa, Tahiti, sharing their passion for Polynesian culture with pride, respect, and authenticity.

Nathalie Teura Voirin Anfosso Manaois


Nathalie Teura Voirin Anfosso Manaois is an instructor, choreographer, costume
designer, composer, and cultural artist from Rangiroa, Tahiti. From 1994–2004,
she danced with the internationally renowned Tahitian dance group Temaeva
under the direction of Coco Hotahota and Fabien Dinard.
During her years with Temaeva, Nathalie performed annually at the
prestigious Heiva I Tahiti and toured internationally in Singapore, New
Caledonia, California, Nevada, and Argentina. She also served as a principal
instructor and choreographer for Orirau Dance School in Papeete, Tahiti from
1995–2004.
In addition to dance and choreography, Nathalie is also known for her artistry
through Teura ART, where she hand paints traditional pareu and conducts
cultural art workshops, sharing the beauty of Polynesian creativity locally and
internationally.

Turereura Manaois, daughter of TeuraWaipa, is an assistant instructor at Fare
Ha‘api‘ira‘a Ori Turereura in Rangiroa, Tahiti. She is currently a student at Te
Fare Tauhiti Nui — Tahiti’s Conservatory of Traditional Dance and Music —
and graduated from Lycée Paul Gauguin with a specialization in Traditional
Tahitian Dance, Music, and Culture.
Since the age of five, Turereura has competed in Ori Tahiti competitions
throughout Tahiti, Rangiroa, Hawai‘i, and internationally, earning First Place
honors at Heiva I Kaua‘i in 2023.
Working closely alongside her parents, she is passionate about preserving the
traditional foundations of Ori Tahiti while embracing the creativity and
evolution of the new generation. Turereura has taught and performed in
workshops across the United States, Mexico, and Japan.

 Mataarii Ruahe


Mataarii Ruahe is a Tahitian musician and percussionist specializing in To‘ere,
Fa‘atete, Tari Parau, and Pahu Tupai, as well as Tahitian ‘ukulele rhythm and
solo performance. He began studying percussion and ‘ukulele at the age of ten
and has performed and competed at Heiva I Tahiti since the age of thirteen.
Throughout his career, Mataarii has performed with respected Tahitian groups
including Temaeva, Toakura, Manohiva, and Atoroirai. He currently performs
as a musician with Te Fare Tauhiti Nui — Tahiti’s Conservatory of Traditional
Dance and Music.
Mataarii has toured internationally throughout Japan, Taiwan, and the United
States, sharing the rhythm, spirit, and traditions of Tahitian music with
audiences around the world.
